Food Service Manager
Location: Hempstead, New York
Description: Under the general direction of the Food Service Director, supervises and coordinates the operations of a College/University Deli and related service; assists in implementing and coordinating corporate programs and special events as assigned; and does related work as required. This position has total responsibility and accountability of a full service P&L unit over $1M in annual revenue. In addition, this position will be responsible for all purchasing, inventory, and payroll. This is a hands on position with the ability to multi-task and manage more than one station.
The ideal candidates will have:
-College/University experience
-Retail food experience
-Catering experience
-Experience managing other managers, supervisors, and hourly team members
-P&L experience -Experience with food and labor management systems
-Excellent client relationships
-Excellent guest service skills
-Hiring/Interviewing knowledge
-Must have the ability to forecast sales and effectively manage labor and food production in peak periods and summer sessions
-Must have a minimum of 2 years senior management experience working in a University setting
-Must have strong organizational and oral and written communication skills -Must have outstanding knowledge of account profitability, budgeting, purchasing and inventory control
-Must be a team player, motivator, and leader -Must be a motivated self starter who will operate the business like it is their own
-Preferably will have a degree in hospitality or related field
