President and Chief Operating Officer
Peter Alessio joined the Company 25 years ago and has held many positions within the Company. Peter joined Lackmann in 1976 as a restaurant manager. He demonstrated a talent for banquet catering and an organizational ability that quickly led him to the General Manager’s position of Colonie Hill; a Lackmann operated facility containing the 2nd largest banquet hall in the country. Peter managed Colonie Hill from 1978 to 1984 and was responsible for growing that business by 55%, to over $6.5 million dollars in annual revenue. From 1984 to 1988, Peter assumed a role as a District Manager and developed strong relations with all key Lackmann clients in the New York City metropolitan area. From 1988 to 1991, Peter assumed the role of Vice President of Sales development. During that period, Lackmann won key accounts including: Hofstra University, Astoria Federal Savings and The New York Stock Exchange.
In 1991, Peter was asked to serve as Vice President of Operations and continued in that role through most of 1999. As Vice President of Operations, He was responsible for the development and implementation of the Coordinator’s position, used at that time to identify and develop future District Managers for the Company. Peter’s business acumen, drive and commitment to the Company contributed to his promotion to President in 2000. As President, he has initiated the re-organization of the Company’s field Operations Management and was the key driver in designing and delivering the Company’s F.O.O.D. system.
Prior to joining Lackmann, Peter gained early experience in the food service industry with several Long Island based private clubs and as an in-flight supervisor for Lufthansa at Kennedy Airport.
Peter is a graduate of Culinary Institute Of America and Suffolk Community College.
